ΑΓ. ΒΑΡΒΑΡΑΣ | Κυριακή 4η Δεκεμβρίου | ‘Όρθρος και Θεία Λειτουργία στις 10:00π.μ.
St. BARBARA | Sunday 4th December | Mattings and Divine Liturgy at 10.00a.m.
Our church is a Parish Church of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain under the Ecumenical Patriarchate. This parish was founded in 1873 as the Greek Sea Men’s Mission. Today it serves Orthodox Christians in Cardiff and surrounding areas. Services are celebrated in both Greek and English. On Sundays, Matins begins approximately 10am, Liturgy 11am and finishes around 1pm. Also, once a month, a Russian Liturgy (Богослужение на русском) is celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:30. Confessions are taken before the service takes place with a Russian priest, Father Vladimir Vilgerts of the Dormition Cathedral in London.
All are welcome to both the Greek or Russian services. The parishioners of both communities are from mixed nationalities, and from various backgrounds. Everyone is welcome to join the services regardless of where they are from, or their background. If you are new to Orthodoxy, and live locally, hopefully you are impressed enough to come back and learn more about the Orthodox church, and all it has to offer – which is a lot. So please come along and join us. Car parking is available for all services, but is limited, so please arrive early if you are travelling by car.
